Dean Wood – Plastic Wax



Dean Wood has been Lead Modeller at Plastic Wax for over eleven years and leads the In-Game Cinematics team. The company’s reputation is one of steadfast commitment to quality, and Dean’s skill and leadership are an integral part of maintaining that. He has combined his specialties in 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop to lead artists on titles such as Injustice 2, Ghost in the Shell: First Assault Online, Star Wars Lego: Force Awakens, Civilization VI. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Gears of War.  For many in this industry, there are formative moments that drive their career’s ambition. Dean was no different. “As a kid, he was inspired by the film Jurassic Park. “To be able to see dinosaurs come to life – it was an amazing screen experience. It was the first of its kind; that stepped away from industry traditions at the time.”

Dean Wood alongside the Plastic Wax team are driving the next step forward in pre-rendered animation, in-engine animation, VR experiences, motion capture (facial/body), story boarding scripting, modeling/texturing, compositing and sound design, for global clients including Warner Brothers, Marvel, Microsoft, Disney interactive, Sony, Activision, Blizzard and Epic Games.
