Method Studios 2019

Method houses a collective of over 400 animation and VFX artists in Melbourne and Sydney who are passionate about producing the best impact on screen – from the production of high quality, fast-turnaround pre-visualisation through to a flawless final shot or sequence. The studio engages in onset supervision, look development, pre and post vis, as well as the finishing of shots. Whilst  Method’s highly-regarded reputation has been built around its 3D and character animation work, the studio also produces outstanding results in 2D VFX, matte painting, compositing, FX animation and on-set supervision for the film and television industries. Over 10 years of remote collaboration with the major Hollywood studios has taught the studio to be flexible, nimble and adaptable with outstanding results on more than 100 of our most loved films including Mad Max: Fury Road, Ted and Ted 2, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Charlotte’s Web, Games of Thrones Season 6 and 7, John Wick Chapter 2 and most recently Jumanji : Welcome to the Jungle.

Alex’s credit list is impressive and includes work on “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Prometheus”, “Kong: Skull Island” and “Jurassic World”. Alex joined Method just over two years ago and has lead teams on the blockbuster “Aquaman”, “Tomb Raider” and “Game of Thrones”. Alex has over 12 years of experience in the vfx industry, starting his career as a Digital Matte Painter in Bucharest, Romania. After moving to London in 2010 he held various positions as Lead Environment Artist, Lead Generalist and Environment Supervisor, at MPC and ILM before joining Method Studios.

Alex is very passionate about filmmaking, always challenging the limitations of the vfx workflow. Walking the line between the art and the technical side of the job, he is a big advocate of real time rendering technology and virtual cinematography. His recent personal work includes experimental short films created using game engine rendering, allowing him to take on the challenge of directing his own content. His projects live on the edge between realism and surrealism, focusing on concept and visual style.
